First I thought that I use original parts but I need to renew crankshaft, few connecting rod and pistons so I think that now it is so easy use 383 stroker kit. The 409 option gives you better torque numbers than a 383 which is the same reason you are changing from a 350 to a 383. Torque is needed to move a heaver object and Impala's are heavy and meet that need. I always thought the only reason to go to a 383 was so nitching the block was not needed.
